A little about Wilo pumps
Founded way back in 1872 in the German city of Dortmund, Caspar Ludwig (“Louis”) Opländer originally started Wilo as a copper and brasswork factory. Over 150 years later however, Wilo now has over 60 subsidiaries in more than 50 countries and employs about 8,500 people worldwide.
Wilo initially started life as “Messingwarenfabrik Louis Opländer Maschinenbau” (Brass Goods factory Louis Opländer Mechanical Engineering) before founding the Wilo subsidary in 1965.

Over the next five decades or so Wilo and the Wilo group would continue to grow and expand, with acquisitions of leading pump manufacturers including Pompes Salmson, EMU GmbH, Mather & Platt Pumps Ltd, Circulating Pumps Ltd, Weil Pump and more.
With an annual production of around 10 million pumps manufactured across 15 production facilites in Europe, Asia and America, it’s easy to see why Wilo are one of the highest regarded and most reliable pump and pump system brands in the technology, water and industrial sectors.
Since it’s formation five generations of Opländer entrepreneurs and philanthropists have lived by three principles: ingenuity, motivation and community spirit. This ethos can still be found to this day, with the German manufacturer synonymous for high quality, robust engineering and fantastic value products – much like the rest of German engineering.
